Volunteer with Us

We don't just talk about reconnecting with land and traditional skills—we practice them. And we need people willing to get their hands dirty.

Why volunteer:

Community service hours, field experience, practical skills, or work that actually matters—we have a place for you. Hands-on, skill-building, grounded in real needs.

We welcome court-ordered community service participants, students seeking field experience, homeschool families, and anyone ready for meaningful labor over performative volunteerism.

Opportunities:

Field Research — Document wild species, collect seasonal data, gather specimens, contribute to ethnobotanical research. No experience required.

Educational Support — Help with workshops, foraging walks, homeschool programs, and skill-sharing events.

Building & Land Work — Construction on our learning center, garden establishment, trail maintenance, invasive removal, habitat restoration.

Food Production — Wild harvest processing, preservation (drying, fermenting, tincturing), seed saving, community meal prep.

Documentation — Photography, video, writing, illustration, educational materials.

What we offer:

Hands-on training from practitioners with decades of experience. Community service documentation. References for students. The satisfaction of work that builds something real.

Possible housing stipends or options.

What we expect:

Show up when you say you will. Work hard. Take correction. No drama, no performance—just honest labor.

Community service welcome:

We work directly with probation officers, provide clear documentation, and offer meaningful projects. If you're in this situation—we don't judge. Some of our strongest volunteers came to us this way.
