Eremos Homestead & Harvest Kit (Beige)

We built this kit because we couldn't find anything that worked for our needs. In coastal Oregon, where we fed our families with a significant portion of the calories from the land, we kept running into problems. 

Baskets that tipped over and were a mess before we made it home, bags that couldn't stay put, a knife forgotten on the forest floor, a brush (somewhere, where the heck did we put that again?), no way to process the harvest before it made it home in a muddy mess. 

We built and designed this kit over the course of many years. We wanted a hands-free solution that would increase our efficiency (try picking blackberries with both hands, it will change your life!), and as we scrambled over downed logs and slippery hillsides, we wanted it to stay put (either as a thigh bag, or use it as a sling). Moreover, we wanted the brush and foraging knife in a dedicated spot. Lastly, we needed something to spread out to process the haul, eat lunch over, or, in the case of some of the bigger hauls, use as a backpack! This kit does all of those things, and you can put it in a car, truck, or bring it everywhere. Lastly, the 4 sizes of muslin bags lock into place on the several attachment points, and can be held open with a clip for hands-free use. You can harvest several species without intermingling, making the final processing at home a breeze (we all know that's the part we like the least).
